Goodbyes
I had chosen to believe in fairy tales as if they were history, against all odds.
I started to have doubts only when someone, whom I had painted a dream with, commented, " Can you stop living in bubble and grow up!?"
Now, I failed to comprehend, how can the blissfully loved woman ended the story with a less-than-perfect divorce? Still, I am glad that she is still very much happy, not the way I envied though. From her blog,
After a While
Veronica Shoffstall
After a while you learn
the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul
and you learn
that love doesn't mean leaning
and company doesn't always mean security.
And you begin to learn
that kisses aren't contracts and presents aren't promises
and you begin to accept your defeats
with your head up and your eyes ahead
with the grace of woman, not the grief of a child
and you learn
to build all your roads on today
because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans
and futures have a way of falling down
in mid-flight.
After a while you learn
that even sunshine burns
if you get too much
so you plant your own garden
and decorate your own soul
instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure
you really are strong
you really do have worth
and you learn
and you learn
with every goodbye, you learn...

So, I have decided to buy flowers for myself before I forget what is my favourite.
Then, I plan to buy birthday cake with "Happy Birthday to Me" every year.
Even with my low EQ and SA, I "sensed" the disappointment.
Still, I went ahead with one of your rules of "Assumption makes an ass out of you and me" but the benefit of doubts was destroyed.
At the end of the day, parents are the only ones whom will love unconditionally. I think I hear the same sentiment in my Dad's voice when he realised when my birthday is going to be upon getting the new calendar.
I have been slacking for far too long.
It's time to fight for freedom, for ME, BOOMZ!
P.S. Thank you Mr. Eye Candy for ending the Semester with a nice "Goodbye".
