Our differences.
Trunk or Boot?
Finally, I recalled some differences in the terms used in referring to objects and stuffs between Singaporeans and Americans.
We use tissue paper and/or serviette while they use napkin.
We may put our stuffs back into the boot of a car while they do so in the trunk of a car.
In Singapore, we are being asked, “Having here or take away?” while the Americans will ask, “For here or to go?” And they offered to-go boxes for unfinished food.
